“ Look “

Look at the work
of four-letter words
quickly turning into forty
stuffing sentences with straw
then failing the test
the very next morning
having missed obvious points
like, “It seems to me”
and “at least from my point of view”
while hedging against incompetence
as unmentionables in each and every sense
by touching on the touchiest of subjects
such as death and madness
saying, “passing away” “meeting their maker”
mixed in with lighter cliches
like, “kicking the bucket” “cashing in
their chips” “handing in their dinner pails”
“innocent” and “simple” and “off of their trolley”
with and without any apology
feeling, “sultry” and “steamy”
and “seldom at ease” becoming insufferably “tedious”
deemed, “pet peeves”spouting unfinished soliloquies repeatedly...
